OUTGOING: Jozy Altidore to Newcastle?

Add yet another club to the long list of clubs interested in the teenage Red Bull New York Forward.
The Sun is reporting the following:
Keegan is planning a swoop for USA pair Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore.
New York hitman Altidore, 18, wants a move to Europe while midfielder Bradley, 20, has impressed for Dutch side Herenveen.
But even more importantly, rather than this just being another UK tabloid report there is official confirmation of the Geordie club's interest on their official web site:
"The Sun also claim Kevin Keegan is planning a swoop for American duo Michael Bradley and Jozy Altidore."
Why would the official website reprint a tabloid rumor is there is no real interest? Answer: they wouldn't.

OUTGOING: Altidore's Transfer Fee Up To $10 Million
And considering the falling dollar and considering the amount of top clubs interested in him, that may even be a little too low for the Red Bull NY striker.
More details here on Mr. Stephen Goff's blog over at the Washington Post.
EDIT: Goff posted an update which states that MLS is looking at $10 Million for Altidore after turning down a transfer to Reading for $8 Million over the winter window.

OUTGOING: Josmer Altidore to Villareal During Summer Window?

Could the 18 year old American star and Red Bull New York forward be bound for spain? Maybe.
This comes to us courtesy of the Spanish publication AS.
Here is the English translation from Dave, one of our readers:
In its search for promising young players that underpin the project that is Villarreal, the yellow cuadro have their eyes on the star of the North American league, Jozy Altidore, who, at just 19, is being eyed by several very important European clubs, including the submarine (Villarreal's nickname), who asserts that they are in negotiations for his services.
Several months ago Real Madrid wanted to sign him, but in the end it didn't happen and now it is Villarreal that has decided to incorporate the player of 1.86 meters, that noted for his physique and his enormous potential. Despite his age, this is his third campaign with the New York Red Bulls, where in the past year he has scored as many as 9 goals. In this season he has started off well and in three matches that he has played he has scored two goals. Not only that, he is also coming along with his national team, and he scored in the last friendly in which the US played Mexico.
Altidore is considered the grand hope of soccer, along with Freddy Adu, who has backed his bags for Benfica. Villrreal is making it a point to carry their interest secretly, and know that other clubs also are following his steps so we must see who decides to be the first to sign him.
In the case of signing him, it would be another example of the usual planning of El Madrigal, who often bet on younger players and sign them before they explode (on the world stage) and their price is prohibitive. That's how Marco Ruben came on the market in winter, and this past summer, Martin Caceres, who both from Recreativo de Huelva and vow to return to the submarine..
Here is video of Altidore in action recently:

OUTGOING: Josmer Altidore to Man U? Chelsea? Real Madrid? Brad Guzan to Aston Villa this summer?

Rating: 3 (Possible)
This summer could see the twin departures of two of the league's top talents. Red Bull New York striker Josmer Altidore and CD Chivas USA's star goalkeeper Brad Guzan if rumors (or rather rumours) from across the pond are to be believed:
Whoever is in charge at Chelsea in the summer will be given money to spend, and the club are set to battle it out with Manchester United to land American whizzkid Jozy Altidore. (News of the World)
Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill is hopeful of landing American keeper Brad Guzan in the summer. (News of the World)
