Have to agree with The Ultra. If you just have "expanded cable", 70+ channels with the usual ESPN, ESPN2, Univision, and your local FoxSportsNet/Time Warner/Comcast sports station, it's quite amazing how little soccer there is on TV considering how much is actually being televised across the world.

Then, while goals are pouring in from leagues and cup competitions all across the world, we are left with poker, spelling bee's, fishing shows, women's softball, etc. It's really disheartening for a soccer fan without satellite(FSC/Setanta/GolTV).My only saving grace is Sirius radio and the internet.

OK, I'm going to get my DISH/direct TV now... :)

Plenty of people care about the rest of MLS in Canada. Check the supporters boards every once in a while, there are plenty of threads for other non-TFC MLS games.

I wish them well, but claiming discrimination is pretty insane and more likely to result in a backlash from the station than it is to result in getting MLS coverage.

I'm a former television sports producer in an MLS market, and it's really difficult to get highlights if you don't roll tape on the actual game broadcast. The networks don't carry highlights on the feeds, so it takes some effort to get MLS video. And in a market like San Diego where you've got the Padres, Chargers, Aztecs, and Toreros to cover (did I forget anyone?), there's only so much time to go around.

Good luck, San Diego. Just don't be belligerent...that will only make it worse.

I live in SD, and the only way to get good soccer coverage, is to pay for it. I had to purchase the sports pack to get Fox Soccer Channel, and then pay an extra 79.00 bucks to get Direct Kick. I could still improve my options, but it would cost me another 20.00 to get HDNet, GolTV and ESPN Deportes. That is a lot of coin I have to spend to watch the Beautiful Game!

I agree I love that FSC shows the game of the week and ESPN does the Thursday nighter. But other than the Crew games those are all we get here.

I wish FSC would show the Saturday and Sunday games with perhaps ESPN or another station showing another game of the week. I dunno maybe I'm crazy but bull riding, poker, and spelling bee's don't seem like sports to me.

That or repeats of USA vs College womens softball. With any luck this league's growth is a herald of better coverage. Good work, and Stay Classy San Diego

On a related note, tv coverage of non-TFC games here in Canada bites the big one. We used to get weekend games on Fox Sportsworld Canada, but they pulled the plug on that the year Toronto made it into the league. Smart, real smart.
