The guy was leaning over them, head right in between the V shape and they just blasted him right in the face. He stumbled backwards, looking pretty disoriented, and then kneeled down. What was disappointing is how long it took the medics to make their way over. It was obviously really serious and a cop was on his walkie talkie instantly, but the poor guy just kneeled there for a few minutes before help arrived.

I have no doubt he got some bad burns, I just hope he's not blind.Dannoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4577094464393024958.post-68044238452352184542008-05-05T09:04:00.000-04:002008-05-05T09:04:00.000-04:002008-05-05T09:04:00.000-04:00Fireworks add nothing to an ordinary soccer game. ...Fireworks add nothing to an ordinary soccer game. There was no disastrous loss of life or injury.
It was a serious accident, not a tragedy.
People use the word tragedy way too often to describe things that may be serious, but are not tragic. It's gotten to the point where people don't know what the word tragedy means anymore. We've become obsessed with making everything bigger and more meaningful than it really is.
This was a very serious and unfortunate event, but please don't make it out to be something it isn't. Not everything has to be hollywoodized.
