Well, I guess I have a reason to drive 16 hours to Edmonton now.

News of Edmonton’s inclusion in a league whose “crest ” includes stars, stripes and the federation acronymn…
My word.
Could you imagine a Dallas, Houston, Chicago or LA team in a league whose crest featured an eagle with a snake in its mouth? Of course you couldn’t. You’re American. You’re too proud to imagine such a thing.

I think Calgary is a better market than Edmonton

I could certainly see it if MLS ever went belly up. Maybe not for Chicago, but for the other three cities it’s an option if all else fails.

the crest is temporary only for 1 year

Edmonton! What a waste of time and a joke!

The big question is will they be calling Commonwealth stadium home, or will they build something else?
(Report comment)
Probably Foote Stadium at the U of Alberta, with CCL games at Commonwealth.
I guess this is not the replacement for the Whitecaps? Are they looking at another market now, or will this still be the feeder club to the ‘Caps?
(Report comment)
are they going to use the drillers name again?
(Report comment)
The Drillers name is currently occupied by an indoor team.
