  2. Am I the only one that thinks it is bizarre (in a good way) that this is happening? Soccer Specific Stadiums being built? If only they were truly soccer only and if only those Field Turf (TM) contracts weren’t so lucrative.

Say your prayers for the recovering economy and let’s root for Houston and KC to get off the ground. DC keep fighting! Some day!! Or you’ll move.

    New England? ……

New England will NEVER have a soccer specific stadium anywhere near Boston ever for the remaining history of mankind. Ever. Mark my word. And yes, I’ve even emailed the Mayor about it. NO REPLY.

  4. Why do the designers insist on putting in those so called covers over the seats? The way the design them (ie Colorado) they don’t cover anything. In Europe the covers are practical and serve a purpose, to protect the fans from the elements. These covers are for looks only, and frankly they look like crap. Red Bull Arena is a great example of how the seats should be covered. Either do it right or save the money and don’t put them in at all.

  8. This stadium looks so small and puny, I think my high-schools stadium is bigger! I wish we could move away from the cookie cutter design of most SSSes and make actual good looking football stadiums, not just giant horse-shoes with half covers…

That being said it is great progress and it will be filled with hopefully a good team and lots of good fans

  10. Good point about the size. Does anyone know if it’s expandable? It looks like the north and south ends could add another tier but that would be at the loss of the view of the river would the team keeps bragging about. The sideline sections could have another tier added also but the roof would have to be removed and replaced. Either way, I think that it’s a great thing and I’m excited for them.

  14. Chicago’s Stadium looks small at first glance too, even in person it appears small. But in reality that’s all the MLS needs. If it allows the league to be proitable I don’t really care what they look like. We can always improve them as the sport grows.

  16. Its a cute little “stadium,” for a cute little “city.” It’s just not fair to compare them to a real city like New York, and a real stadium, like Red Bulls.
