The photo was taken at the after party for RSL team and front office staff at one of Qwest Fields many conference rooms were the party went on past midnight. Everyone that attended the club after party were more than happy to have a picture taken with MLS Cup and were surprised at how heavy it is.

While the club partied at Qwest, RSL fans meet at F.X.McRory’s across the street were the team arranged with the owner of the pub to be set up as their home away from home. This is where the majority of the RSL fans meet and partied before and after the MLS Cup closing the pub all weekend.

Galaxy and RSL fans could be found all around Seattle during the MLS Cup weekend party. It truly was a city wide party and celebration of the beautiful game. Seattle had welcome signs throughout the city even painting the Space Needle welcoming fans.

Almost everyone in Seattle was aware it was MLS Cup weekend with activities planned from Wednesday until late Sunday night. I left around midnight Sunday and RSL fans and the club were still celebrating.

Looking back at the whole week in Seattle it was a feeling that footy has arrived in the US. As Don Garber alluded to before and after the game that Seattle has set a new bar in hosting of the MLS Cup.

The game we love no longer has to or should take a back seat to the other sports in the US and Canada for it’s Championship Match.
