MLSR has learned from a source close to the club that Toronto FC Manager Chris Cummins has been let go following Toronto’s failure to make the playoffs in their third season. Cummins was the third manager in three seasons following Mo Johnston and John Carver. Cummins became the interim coach after John Carver left the club earlier this season.
Presumably a search for a replacement is now underway.
Mo Johnston, Toronto FC GM has called a press conference for tomorrow morning Toronto time and we expect to hear word Cummins has been let go officially then as well as other things regarding the club:

So the heads have began to roll even before the conclusion of the MLS Cup playoffs. …
Could DC United’s Tom Soehn’s be next?

GOOD! Cummins is a joke of a coach… but Mo Johnston NEEDS to go too. He is the most incompitent manager in MLS history. He put together this pathetic team that after 3 years still hasnt had a winning season. Neither the fans, players , or media like him or want that snake here. Go the fuck back to Scotland you piece of shit.

Cummings was put in a tough spot by Carver, but this is the nature of the game. Maybe we see Cummings picked up by Saputo. Soehn is definitely going…look for him to show up in KC.

I think Toronto needs to decide what they are trying to do a revolving door for coaches doesn’t work in MLS. You have to have a coach who will build a team that he can get to perform, but now you will have a new coach and the roster will turn over again and they will suffer trying to build a team that can make the playoffs. The shame is that they were just a win away from making it and instead of building on that they will start over again. Here is to TFC missing the playoffs one more year in 2010.
