Raul devrait poursuivre sa carrière aux Etats-Unis. Selon ESPN, l'attaquant espagnol aurait trouvé un accord avec les dirigeants du New York Cosmos. L'ancien Madrilène, âgé de 37 ans, était libre de tout contrat depuis la fin de son bail avec le club qatarien d'Al Saad.

Il serait attendu cette semaine dans la mégalopole américaine pour signer son contrat et rejoindre la mythique formation new yorkaise pour la saison 2015 de NASL, considéré comme le deuxième échelon du football aux Etats-Unis après la MLS.

Raul, international espagnol à 102 reprises, rejoindrait ainsi une franchise recréée en 2010 et qui a repris la compétition en 2013 en NASL. Candidats à la MLS, les New York Cosmos avaient été doublés par le New York City FC formé par les mêmes propriétaires que Manchester City et qui feront leurs débuts en MLS la saison prochaine avec notamment David Villa et Frank Lampard dans leurs rangs.
