3rddegree.net is reporting that Red Bull New York has agreed to trade recently re-signed Dutch midfielder Dave van den Bergh to FC Dallas for forward Dominic Oduro. The speedster from Ghana has been a target of Red Bulls coach Juan Carlos Osorio since late in the 2008 campaign. Van den Bergh was one of the top players in last years New York squad but the club was unwilling to match his salary demands, with this trade the club opens significant cap space, but at the same time will have to replace one of the teams most consistent performers. MLS-rumors.net first reported that New York had agreed to terms with the Dutch midfielder, as it turns out it was with the intentions of trading him to the Western Division side. More details regarding the deal will follow as various sources are confirming that there is more to the deal, with New York either moving up in the draft or receiving allocation funds.Update: New York will also receive the 11th and 18th pick in the MLS Draft while Dallas will have the 14th overall pick.

I like Vande bergh but i dont mind the team rebuilding now especially since angel is gone. The team lost alot of fire power with the altidore/angel exits. I think this team is barely a mid-table team next yr. They need a DP.
