We found this on La Opinion a few days ago.
Jared Borgetti, mexican forward whose contract with Rayados de Monterrey just expired, have authorized his agent to try to find him a team in the US. His agent told La Opinion that ideally Borgetti would like to stay in Mexico but at the same time, he is open to the possibility of playing in MLS.
"As soon as his contract with Monterrey expired, I started looking for a team overseas, primarily in MLS", said his agent. "If he can't play in Mexico, he would like to play in the US because he believes he could do well because of MLS's style". "He is not concerned about money, but to find a place where he can keep enjoying the game".
How do you feel about this Mexican forward potentially coming to MLS?

i smell a ploy to get a better contract by using the old mls wants me (and to a beckham like deal) that you seem to hear atleast twice a quarter from older euro players.
words cannot describe how much i hate borgetti.
hate him -love the idea, like Blanco a good fit for sure.....hows about DC my man???, then we'll call up Gooch to join in at CB :)
Sign him for one year with an option to -resign him for another year if both parties are comfortable!
He's used MLS as a ploy before now...I wouldn't be surprised if this is the same. Still, at the right price I'm sure he could do a job both on the pitch and commerically for a team in MLS.
i've always liked him as a player except for when he plays form mexico, would be a great addition
Play for DC United. We have a huge Mexican fan base and it would boost our attendance
Seriously, how often does this story need to get played before somebody realizes that its bullshit?
If it is true...then he would be great for the Galaxy. Becks centers, Borgetti scores! A point man is what Arena needs to make that team work.
I never realized the US is "overseas"... lol
LOL. Overseas... my bad!
Didn't really think about it...I guess he could even walk to the US...
Cheers,
What ever you do. Do not come to Columbus...
Another past-his-prime player using MLS as a bargaining chip!
This guy would be a great addition to MLS. We need more villains.
Look for him to land in San Jose.
why do people hate him? i agree he died out but im pretty sure he would still be a good addition to the MLS, i hope with chicago fire, because Blanco has really good chemistry on the field with Borgetti...
does any one remember the goal Borgetti scored against Itlay in the 2002 fifa world cup... what a goal and it was an asisst from Blanco
Italy* correction
He severely compromised himself when he said money doesn't matter. If he wants to play for the love of the game, at a serious pay cut, then he'd be a good addition to the league.
Another high priced old guy, we don't need.
Either he has the worst agent in the world or he has poor judgement for his career. He went to Bolton and should have shined, but he took month + off after the world cup and he came back awful. Then he goes to MEXICO! That league is just awful. He should have come directly from the EPL to the MLS. LA, Houston, Dallas would be a good fit.
wait....so he is not going to TFC?
Leave Jared Borgetti alone he is one of the best players in the world and I think he should go to Chicago Fire with Blanco.
