Could a decision to sign the Korean star also known as "Asia's David Beckham" be close at hand? Could it really be made before the end of this week? Or is it all just clever posturing by the player's agent? Time will tell but according to this Goal.com article negotiations have broken down between the striker who has played in Italy, Japan and Korea and his Korean K-league club Busan I' Park which is known around here as the club which swooped in on Reinaldo da Costa before the Colorado Rapids could get him to put ink to paper.

Seattle makes a lot of sense. Lot of Asians. I think this guy could be very good for the league
Could be LA or Toronto too, both have large Korean populations OR it could be a team that has no korean populations but wants a decent striker, Go figure...
He'd be a nice addtion to C-bus but I don't think they are in the running since they have not officially named a coach. This being the case I'd expect someone on the Left Coast to go after him.

How is 38% (or any) of his salary going to be tax free ?!?!?!
Quick lets think of owners in MLS who know how to hide money so that 38% of his salary would be tax free.

There keep being reports that Gallardo is going back to Argentina.
Ahn could jump right in here as he is more like Christian Gomez in that he is an attacking midfielder who can play as a striker too.
Then we all know that DCU was scouting players in Asia over the summer.
DC is not going to let that DP slot go to waste. Maybe they know Gallardo is leaving so they are pouncing on this guy. Wasnt and earlier report was that this guy was going to a mid table east coast club? DC United would qualify.
If its not DC United I will be shocked.
Colorado with their large Asian population (they have a festival in the middle of July I think) and such might be a good match.
I think maybe he was saying that his tax rate would be 62%, perhaps that is like the highest US bracket PLUS State and local, City, etc. Maybe this is lower then Korean taxes?

If I'm Seattle and I have to choose between Ahn and Montero I go Montero.
But if I know that Montero is moving on in August, maybe I do both?
Ahn would be one of the last "big"ish names I would look at as SSFC, but they have claimed that they want an Asian player, while at the same time saying that they will not pick a player based on their ethnicity but instead on their quality of play.

i dont believe seattle going after Ahn.....they will get a few rookies, bring USL Sounders up(2-4), and sign a few more,maybe montero and/or other................the article before about ahn also did say they were 3 EASTERN teams(dont know if thats true,but its wat it said)

Hello I am Korean and can give you many videos with this player. He has a lot of skill and will score goals. It is shame the economy is so bad for Busan. This player should stay in Korea. Good luck MLS.
