From the email....
Good afternoon, MLS Rumors. I just published a blog post regarding some findings we've seen re: Google Blogs Posts and Amazon Sales that pertain DIRECTLY to MLS. You can check those out here: http://www.trendrr.com/blog/
Working strictly within the parameters of Trendrr we saw not only an increase in Google Blog Posts regarding "MLS Cup" in the last week, but also a strong correlation to purchases of the "History of the MLS Cup" DVD on Amazon. This illustrates the strong influence that blogs have on the marketplace and proves that proper relationships with "citizen journalists" can really lead to an increased bottom line. Heck, if you follow the Zappos model, the league as a whole should be participating on Twitter as well, but that's a conversation for another day.
I would love to show you more, but check this out first.
Check out the new data here: http://www.trendrr.com/
We're graphing a ton data here at Trendrr, but the only way to be able to cover it all is to get users signing up and tracking data themselves.
Editors Note: We are and have been selling the History of MLS Cup in the top right corner of the screen for months now and also noticed an uptick.

they always say correlation doesn't equal causation...
Simply, Amazon sales rank increased for a DVD with "MLS Cup" in the title the week before the "MLS Cup".
It's not the sole reason that the sales are up, but mainstream media outlets don't cover MLS as closely as some blogs do so as people are coming across this more in their everyday viewing, many of these sites have Amazon ads on their site and, guess what that top result is?
how is this news?
interest about MLS cup spikes in the days before MLS cup.
who woulda thought?
