Hey guys,
I just posted something on my blog that I found in El Informador about Francisco Mendoza leaving Chivas USA to play for Chivas de Guadalajara next season. Mendoza would join the team the second week of December in Baja California for preseason.
The article also reports that Mendoza is in the middle of a big dilemma right now because he could be called for both the US national soccer team and the Mexican one. Mendoza is in the process of getting his permantent residence in the US and once it is granted, there is a big chance Bob Bradley could ask him to join the team. However, Ericksson (Mexico's head coach) is also thinking about Mendoza as an option for the Mexican national team, and he will more likely give him a call to play against Sweden next January.

What do you think about Mendoza leaving Chivas USA? What about the national team deal, do you think he should wait for his residence and play for the US even if he gets a call from Ericksson?

LOL no chance he plays for the US, Chivas would put him out on the street so fast his would still be spinning by spring time.
He shouldn't play for the US, it'd be nice for depth, but we don't need him. It's not worth ruining his club career for a chance to be a depth guy for the US team.
Mendoza is not good enough to play for the US, maybe for the green gallinas but i don't follow the devils team so i wouldnt know.
He has to consider all of his options, he was rock solid on a very iffy Chivas USA side. While Preki wanted more offense out of him, he is a quality defender that can play multiple postitions and he is only 23 years old.
I think he could step into the MLS pool of US players easily and provides youth and pace, something the USMNT lacks on defense. I believe he has a better shot at national team honors with the US than he would in Mexico.
I would take time to talk to both coaches and see where he fits in with their plans (we know bradley likes Chivas players and he has good knowledge about Mendoza having been his coach).
While I find it hard to say I like any Chivas players, Mendoza has always been a player I respect for his talent and work rate.
Eriksson is about to fired anyway.
Rock solid?
f4denz, are you a Chivas USA season ticketholder?
I dunno whats up with all the we already have depth on the US team....OH PLZ!! Mendoza would probably be battling for a start if bradley wanted him to play left back. WHo else is competing for that start? Bornstein, Pearce? Puhhhleeeeeezeeeee
^^^
lol
Truth is he's not good enough to start for either team.
