INCOMING: German Villa to join Blanco and Davino?

Posted by MLS Rumors Tuesday, November 25, 2008

This comes to us courtesy of our good friends at "MLS en Espanol"...

In today's edition, El Universal de Mexico reports that German Villa will more likely follow his "buddies" Cuauhtemoc Blanco and Duilio Davino's steps, and join the MLS next season.

Villa - who since yesterday- is oficially not a Club America player, will have to look for another team next season, and since he has a really close relationship with Blanco and Davino (they were called "the three happy buddies" by reporters who covered the team in 2007), there is a big chance he decides to come to the MLS (Chicago Fire, specifically).

German Villa, a 35 years old center midfielder, also played for Espanyol in Spain (98-99) and Necaxa.

MLS en espanol questions Villa's age and the fact that he did not get a lot of playing time last season. They think bringing Villa may not be a good idea for the league. What do you think?

  1. I think Villa is a good player. However, I honestly think he is not the kind of player the MLS needs. Neither was Davino.

Blanco is, on the other hand, one of the best players who has played in the MLS in the last few years.
