INCOMING: Kuffour to MLS in 2009?

Posted by MLS Rumors Sunday, November 30, 2008

We just got this e-mail from our good friends of MLS en Espanol.net...

Hey guys, I posted this on my blog yesterday and wanted to share it with you.

I got another e-mail from my friends of Agoge Sports and they told me that Samuel Kuffour (center back who played for Bayern Munich, Roma and Ajax among others) is talking to MLS about coming next season. However, Kuffour would be looking for a DP spot...

I don't think this is going to happen, mainly because Kuffour is not really well known here in the US and he has not played for the last few months... however, I thought I would post it and share it with you guys anyway...

What do you think about this? Do you think Samuel Kuffour is worth a DP spot?

  2. You know who else was not really well known here in the US? Guillermo Barros Schelotto.

  3. fantastic signing but theres no way in hell dudes getting DP money, unless its done with allocations.
in that case we could use him at TFC.

  5. Kuffour's not going to be playing in MLS, he retired...

and even if he was to come back, he hasn't played consistently since he was with Bayern Munchen in 2005. He played 41 matches between 05-08, so he's out of shape and NO WHERE CLOSE to DP worthy.

  7. Our friend from Jersey based his info on Internet available info. Sammy is in shape, and he played competitively with Bayern, Roma and Ajax. He is very ready for MLS. Believe me.

  9. he played 2 matches with Ajax before being released due to lack of form... isn't the internet great?

  11. and do tell how my citing of ACTUAL sources is less credible than you saying "He is very ready for MLS. Believe me."

  19. Floridian teams: Miami Fusion and the Tampa Bay Mutiny. This was for financial reasons.

Two teams failed! Yes for finacial resons ...which means no one went to the games!

Stick with the other expansion bids they have a fan base that will pay to go to the games!
