OUTGOING: Carl Robinson to England?

Posted by MLSR Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Could the Toronto FC midfielder be headed back 'cross the pond? Maybe.

"It was a big decision when I came over here two years ago, and it was the right decision because I have my hunger for the game back. I was really unhappy," Robinson said. "Now it's another big decision I have to make two years down the line."

If he does leave, Robinson's departure would leave a gaping hole in Toronto's roster.

Robinson only has one goal in 26 games in the 2008 campaign, but the Welsh veteran has been Toronto's most consistent player this season, and has firmly established himself as one of the top holding midfielders in the league.

So, has he been contacted by any English clubs looking to sign him?

Robinson wouldn't say.

"Most footballers do have offers from other teams, and it's a case of whether the offer is right for you and your family," said Robinson, before adding "there have been inquiries about me from England."

  4. How do you figure? He's not there to be an offensive threat. He does his job, and does it well. I hope he stays at TFC, but I'll understand if he finds an opportunity back home.
