Well according to this anonymous email an offer will be made:
Hello MLSR, I wish to be anonymous but you should know by now that the information I give you is correct. If you forgot, I'm the person who first informed you last year that there were talks to expand BMO Field and bring in grass. Perhaps you have heard John Carver has said he will leave unless Toronto uses their DP slot on a quality player. And perhaps you have heard that Thierry Henry is looking to make a move, perhaps to MLS. What you don't know, and what I know is that Thierry Henry's name tops the list of who MLSE is pursuing. Whether or not they are able to beat out Seattle and New York remains to be seen but the offer will be out there and it will be substantial. So with Seattle, New York and now Toronto linked to T.H. is there any chance he ISN'T in MLS in 2009?

I think he's still 2 yrs away from coming to MLS. He'll be back in the EPL or stay in Barca, and when he does come to MLS it will be NY, no chance he goes to TFC.
You have a better chance of winning Powerball six straight weeks than you do of seeing Henry play for Toronto. When you say United States to Henry you better mean United States.
That's just it. He didn't say United States. He said America. And Canada is part of the Americas. Toronto has the best fans and atmosphere in MLS. Just like Europe. Of course he will come play here in Toronto. Why would he want to play in an NFL stadium on a plastic pitch (Seattle) or in front of 12,000 soccer moms (New York/New Jersey)?
Henry will go to NYC in 2 years time.
that is all.
just out of curiousity, how much of the population of Toronto is French/Candian? I'm asking b/c I don't know. Could that be a "comfort" factor?
pretty much none of Toronto is french canadian (or quebecqois). a few people move here from quebec but not a significant amount.
i would prefer if he went to seattle to keep the buzz going and start offf on the right foot, thats what expansion teams need, not another to much hype team with no stars like ny was in 96, they could have averaged 20k if they started to play 2 years ago but they losty so many fans for numerous reasons including sucking
He wants to be close to his daughter which is why I think he'll go back to an EPL team, and why he'd stay on the east coast if he came to MLS. Seattle you're out.
I know it hurts Canadians and Mexicans and all others, but when people outside of the Americas talk about America, they mean the mother f'n RED WHITE AND BLUE. TFO you're out.
Conclusion.....NYC it is
no you don't need a star for an expansion team to be successful. look at Toronto, there was no one on the team with the stardom that Henry would bring. and they did fine.
you need a solid fan base and a soccer specific stadium in a good location.

"That's just it. He didn't say United States. He said America. And Canada is part of the Americas."
No one in Europe has ever said "America" while talking about Canada. "I am going to Toronto on holiday in America" has never been said. When people talk about going to Niagara Falls they go to the Canadian or the American side.
From Wikepedia:
"Niagara Falls is composed of two major sections separated by Goat Island: Horseshoe Falls, on the Canadian side of the border and American Falls on the United States side."
Dont think any TFC fans (or anyone else for that matter) in right of mind, believe he will be going to TFC. That photo was a joke taken from a toronto supporters forum. This post is just a troll for hits.
This just in, you fell for the bait. Henry will not be in a TFC uniform anytime soon.
and by anytime soon I mean NEVER!!
what exactly was written in this email that you deemed valid enough to post this? it's ridiculous. I could of written you an email saying MLSE is looking at so and so and you would of added it to your website?
You Canucks really are full of yourselves. Henry's love of matters American (you may not like the term as it applies to things, well, American, but, too bad) is well known. Isn't it great? Now we have moosehead lecturing us about our country's name. Oh, the thanklessness of being an AMERICAN soccer fan.
I'm a TFC fan, but no chance this happens.
Like a lot of the premier players out there they are looking for a destination city like LA, Miami, or NY.
I don't think he's coming for the game, he's coming for life style.
Henry is coming to Seattle-THIS month.
Well, if he comes to Seattle, he sure won't have to worry about getting paid. Heck, maybe even some movie deals.
New York is of course the biggest appeal just plainly because of it being the 'IT' city.
Either move would work out well for him though. Pacific or Atlantic Ocean? Hmmmm...
People want to freak out on MLSR for posting things other than rumours. Now they post a rumour (although, I'll admit a weak one), and people still get all up in arms.
