  4. This is a big deal. MLS is finially making an effort at developing its own players. I sure hope this kid succeeds and more clubs invest into player development. Its the real long term future for MLS.

  6. This is a very important step for MLS.

    Should not be underestimated.

Key to MLS' quality improvement is developing young players early. The College Draft system doesn't cut it.

  7. Defo great but its garbage we cant sign more than 2 guys at a time, that ish has to change, once those two have been signed any other team can pillage the academy players as they please

  9. Good luck to the guy with his career. Maybe a real team'll come knocking at some point while Galaxy persists with bloated veterans, two dimensional tactics and Becks in attack (LOL) to flog replica shirts, sunglasses and marker pens.

  11. Don't they need better defenders? Sounds great for him and the youth development program but they have the worst defense in the league!

  12. Shit, the anonymous guy before said it before i could!

    A forward? LMFAO

The Gals need a ton of work towards a feasible defense that could qualify for pub teams in Cuba. So what are they doing? Signing a forward. You can't make this shit up.

  13. Does each MLS team have an academy team now?

If so i think it is a massive step in the right direction for the sport in the US. Academies form the backbone of a lot of European teams (those that can't buy the cream of the crop) and as a Middlesbrough fan i'm proud of our academy set up.

  15. FINALLY we are realizing soccer is an occupation like any another trade, you have to be learning it in a professional environment with pro coaches and players as your instructors and mentors. I spent most of my time in college on a soccer scholarship, studing, drinking, chasing chicks, hanging out, scratching my nuts and a few months here and there kicking a soccer ball - things that had notting to do with professional soccer, which was what I really wanted. College is a good place for the average and above average soccer players to earn an education and learn a skill or trade because they are most likely never going to make it as pros. However for the blue chip soccer players (the ones who really has a chance) COLLEGE IS A DEATH SENTANCE!!!
