MLS Mobile getting a major upgrade beyond simple score texts?
Almost as an answer to the story about the report of poor customer experience this rumor just came to us via our email dropbox:Hello MLSR,
Good to see the rumors flowing again. Here's another one to add to them.
I work for a mobile data company which I will not identify. We are currently working on some big MLS Mobile improvements for next season which will include:
Access to the Matchtracker in real-time
Access to MLS Clubs Vortex via mobile
Access to MLS Quickkicks via mobile
Access to Highlights and MLS Extra Time via mobile
And here's the big one:
Access to MLS Live.tv streaming via mobile
We are working on reformatting and setting up transcoding infrastructure to support the following handsets:
Apple iPhone
Blackberry Pearl, Curve, Bold, Storm
Windows Mobile
Symbian OS
Via the following carriers: AT&T, Rogers Wireless, Sprint PCS, T-Mobile USA, and Verizon Wireless.
It seems like the revamp to the mobile part of MLSNet is just a small part of of an overall site overhaul they will roll out next season,
Keep up the good work.
Editor's Note: We believe this rumor is likely related to this story.... and this story as well.
What do you think? Will you use such a service? Should it be free or would you pay $2 a month or some small fee for it?
