PHOTO: Mexico National Team and Coach Visit LA to Play & Shop

Posted by MLSR Tuesday, September 23, 2008

A day before the friendly match against Chile on Wednesday, Sept. 24, members of the Mexico National Soccer Team visited the adidas Sports Performance store in Santa Monica to sign autographs, meet fans and take pictures. Prior to the autograph signing new El Tri head coach Sven-Goran Eriksson walked the floor and shopped for new Adidas threads.

Five Mexican players took part in the autograph signing and as expected it was a nonstop flow of El Tri fans. The store was a spectacle with lengthy lines out front, crowds of onlookers and a packed house inside. Attached are two photos of players signing autographs for some young fans.

Mexico plays Chile Wednesday, Sept. 24 at 8pm PT at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum just south of downtown Los Angeles.

  4. Look - I love football and international football. I love that through SUM and exhibitions such as these with El Tri, MLS can get much needed capital to continue to build it's product.

But it's also sights like this that make me ill and and wonder if people pulling on the US shirt are playing for the same 100,000 people all the time.

C'mon Sam's Army and American football fans. Put down your El Tri shirt and burn your Three Lions Gear. Toss away any other colors and pull for America!
