INCOMING: Gregory Richardson to Columbus Crew?

Posted by MLSR Wednesday, September 3, 2008

If you're a small club like Joe Public from a Caribbean country like Trinidad and Tobago what do you do after soundly defeating an MLS side? Look to make some cash by selling players of course.

Apparently, Columbus Crew is interested in Gregory Richardson according to this article from Goal.com:

"Minutes after scorching the New England Revolution for a hat-trick, Joe Public striker Gregory Richardson told Goal.com he would like to play in Major League Soccer. And the feeling appears to be mutual.

When the Guyanese speedster was asked if he had been contacted by any MLS sides, he smiled. “Yes,” he said. “Only Columbus has expressed some interest.”

  4. I'd rate this 0 out of 5. MLS rules won't even allow this transfer at this point in the season. The international transfer window closed on 8/15 so Gregory Richardson a.k.a. Jackie Chan, Jack Warner, and the Columbus Crew are out of luck.

    Again, 0 out of 5.

  8. How perfect. I thought the Joe Public dismantling of NE was great, but now the crew have a chance at getting the star of the show. Watch out MLS and crew haters.

  10. MLS fans, get a clue, JOE Public got HAMMERED by USL side Montreal Impact not once, but twice( 2-0, 4-1, yah thats 5 goals on aggregate!!!!!). USL is supposed to be YOUR farm league, but Montreal beat Toronto FC (twice)and killed Joe Public (twice). You want some real talent, look elsewhere because it aint in Joe Public`s roster. Maybe next time we should send our farm club Trois Rivieres Attack so you can maybe beat someone (even then it would be subject to scrutiny)
    Go Impact!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
