According to multiple sources including the Washington Post's Steve Goff, DC United is poised to sign the South African winger/striker currently playing for lower division USL-2 side Pittsburgh Riverhounds FC.
Khumalo was brought in on a recent trial with United and appears to have impressed them to the point of possibly offering him an international roster spot.
He was recently named to the USL-2 All League (All Star) team.

Any relation to the 1996 Crew bust...err... "star" Doctor Khumalo (also from South Africa)?
This guy was a 3rd round pick in the 2005 Superdraft by the Chicago Fire but was waived without playing a game and then sunk into the obscurity of the USL.
