Altidore records hat trick in Villareal victory

Posted by MLS Rumors Saturday, September 6, 2008

Jozy Altidore nets a hat trick in Villareal's 7-1 victory over San Rafael
in a friendly match played this saturday.
With all the problems the US is having up front why not give Jozy a call?

  4. Simple, Bob Bradley is stupid and is stuck on his other players and fails to see that Freddy Adu and Jozy Altidore are our best forwards and CAN KENNY COOPER GET A CALL UP GEEEEESH!!!!

  8. actually now that i think about it, maybe bradley is a genius and we are all falling into his plan. Maybe the point in not calling up adu, altidore, and cooper is to keep them motivated to improve and play better and better to show that they absolutley deserve a call up. Maybe when the world cup rolls around and they FINALLY get a SURPRISE call up to their first game in a while they will blow the competition away! The US then wins the World Cup and Bradley proudly boasts how this was all part of his plan....and that we are the idiots...just maybe. Well the first phase of not calling them up is in now commencing

  10. ... or maybe they need to establish roles on new teams. If they're in Cuba, Jozy's not impressing the staff at Villareal, and Adu's not learning the system and players at Monaco.

No excuse for not calling up Cooper, though. Eddie Johnson... really?

  13. Calm down folks.
Adu and Jozy are a lock for the WC.
They are not playing in the qualifiers now because they are not needed at this time.
There is no need for them to impress me any more.

As for Cooper... well, I just want to piss him off.

    Bob Bradley.

  17. The goat from East LA should realize that the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution are written in English. I say that as a fluent speaker of Spanish. Habla ingles, huevon.

  19. I really don't think the US needs any help beating teams like Trinidad & Tobago or Cuba. When the time comes for Mexico and some of the tougher challenges in CONCACAF, I'm sure Altidore and Adu will be there. They are better off growing with their club teams and helping their future standing with the club.

  23. Jozy and Adu played for the Olympic team while the players on the current World Cup Qualifier squad were in training. Both players signed with new teams and had yet to train or get affiliated with them. Bradley wasn't going to keep them away for the Olympics AND WC Qualifiers. Bradley wasn't going to just change the lineup for every qualifier match. That would destroy the continuity of the team. It's not hard to understand.

  25. "Jozy played for the olympic team"

I wouldn't quite say "played" he was used very sparingly.

The truth is Bradley and his cronies are not competent enough to take our program to where it needs to be.

2 defensive mids against a Cuba team without 1 professional player?

  27. If jozy wasn't called up then he would've been able to record this hatrick. Im I the only one who would rather jozy establish himself at a cl club rather than playing him in pretty much meaningless minnow games.

and Cooper should be called up.

  33. They got rid of Altidore way to quick. I know they (Red Bulls and MLS) got $10 Million on a transfer fee. If they had held on for another year or two, I think the transfer fee would have well over $30 Million. Oh well...

Watch out for Edson Buddle... This guy is good! LA better sign him long term and wait for a HUGE transfer fee!
