Blanco at Eye of the Storm As Firey Debate Rages On
One thing to keep an eye out for if you watch today's Chicago Fire game home to DC United at Toyota Park is a mass fan protest which was initially begun by Sector Latino a Latino/a and Hispanic fan section at the stadium. It now has grown in size to encompass all of Section 8 the umbrella organization for Chicago's many independent supporter's groups.
At the center of the controversy are allegations that Monterrey Security staff have targeted Sector Latino for unfair treatment as well as verbally abused them with racial epithets.
And to add more fuel to the fire, Monterrey Security provides Blanco's personal bodyguard.
More to follow in a story after today's game here on MLSR tomorrow.

I would like to thank Barra Brava and the Timbers Army showing unity with us during the protest.
Barra Brave sang some of our chants while we sat in silent protest and the Timbers Army hung a banner at their game stating that we are all Sector Latino.
Though we can rag on each other during the game its nice to know when the matter of racism we can all agree it has no place anywhere.
Once again thank you Barra Brava and Timbers Army. You showed some major class.

Funny - where is MLSR? Are they making these huge posts about this? They clearly have very little information but that has never stopped them before. Columbus is has a game in hand and is 1 point ahead of the crew. I would like to note how many trophies the Crew has won. Absolutely nothing. As one of the found members of this league they have found a way not to win a single trophy. Man Columbus has one storied history. Somehow I don't think this is gonna change after the actually qaulity sides get all their injuried players back fresh for the post season. Take that bitch.
Also note that Blanco (if you didn't know he's hispanic) had something to say about this protest. I don't kno the exact quote but it goes like this: The fans are dumb. They get drunk, and then insult and harrass the security. It is the same in Mexico.
Hmmm. That puts it in some perspective. I'm going to stick to TFCs protest to keep BMO soccer specific.

LOL...honestly I couldn't agree more! I am a season ticket holder with the Fire and have since moved OUT of section 8 because of all the crap they do....throwing shit on the field (not streamers...cheese, bottles, coins, etc, etc) and none (well not not, but most) don't even care about the game...it's a statement to them to be a part of section 8 and it's lame to see tools running around in fake army uniforms and berets and other nonsense.
Plus they have weak ass fucking songs.

14 years = 2 trophies dumbasses. It's not quite a storied history of some other clubs, but its our clubs.
Those two trophies are US Open Cup and a Supporters Shield.
They still count nontheless.
You all can go ahead and hate on the Crew. I do somewhat enjoy listening to the nonsense.
And , yes, this may be a blog - but their posts say sometimes "Editorial" and they try to front being a pseuso-news region by half-assed attempts at research. But instead of trying to prove truth in a matter, they look only for what they want to report.
I check for the rumors only. Their 'news'? I value that less than pretty much anything else in this world.
