The first week of above ground construction of Red Bull Arena has commenced and the progress is very noticeable. If everything goes according to plan the Red Bulls should be playing at the new grounds by the 2009 MLS season.
That's partially correct. Yes there will be natural grass, but when Red Bull bought out AEG's share of Red Bull Park, Red Bull redesigned the stadium and renamed it Red Bull Arena, the new design increased capacity to 25,189.
I read somewhere the new stadium is going to be in Jersey, too. Why not in New York itself? Isn't one of the reasons Red Bulls don't get many fans is because of the team's location?
well the location in Harrison is great .... you got easy access from the city through train as their is a station almost right in front of the stadium. plus you are less than a mile away from amazing restaurants and bars in the ironbound section of newark.
Looking good. One crappy stadium down, five or so more to go...
Thank god. Natural grass? How many seats?, etc...
natural grass? yes!
seats? 18,500
"natural grass? yes!

You probably didn't notice, but the first two pictures are the same.
It's about time !!
depending on how many bodies get buried in the concrete, this could be the best soccer stadium in america.
This is great to see.
I wonder which goombas are doing the construction on this
Nice pictures. Love to see this kinda stuff. Also, Joe Crack is right first two pictures are the same.
2009? that quick? umm, are you sure?
if true thats great.
Yes, September 2009 according to everyone, even the press release that came out a few days ago.
Where did those photos come from? They look like the photos on a different site, but there is no credit given...
