PHOTO: DC and Portland. United.

Posted by MLSR Thursday, August 7, 2008

The photo above was taken at the the Kansas City at DC United game. It is a show of solidarity between DC United's supporter's groups and the Timbers Army in sending a message that Portland wants in MLS in 2011 as per the Paulson plan.

The other side of this is that Timbers Army members are planning to support DC United in Seattle should both Seattle and DC United advance to the 2008 US Open Cup Final

  2. Makes sense. Good mutual respect between great supporters groups.

Heck of an endorsement from DC!

  4. You wonder why any strong supporters group would support Portland over other cities.

This site makes the comparison very clear:

  6. Hmmm... perhaps they should change their name to Portland United then?

Nah. Timbers is way better. But this is really great! I was worried (as United supporter) about what would happen if we play Seattle in the USOC final, but the Portland supporters are second to none! Better than our own, better than TFC, worthy of Europe! I wholeheartedly endorse Portland 2011!

  10. There is a good chance you will be seeing this same banner with a few other supporters groups in the league.

  12. All I can say to the Timbers and United supporters is "Bring it, bitches!"

How much support can the Timbers' support group give United when the Sounders FC will have sold a majority of the seats to season ticket holders? What few Timbers' fans do show up at our matches will be scattered about like so much Oregon trash.
