First there was a fight between he and team mate Wilman Conde, now this.
According to multiple reports, Chicago Fire midfielder, Cuauhtemoc Blanco may finally have gone off the deep end in what many describe as an assualt on a stadium employee after being red carded in tonight's US Open Cup Quarterfinal match at DC United. We are still trying to gather more information on just what happened and would love any of you who have photos, or video of the incident to contact us. Did you witness the event? If so share your thoughts in the comments section. Here are some eyewitness reports:
I don't suppose anyone got pictures of Blanco head-butting the DCU staffer after he was sent off tonight? Happened right in front of me. After Blanco hesitated by the bench the staffer went over to encourage him to leave the area. Blanco got in his face and after a few words were exchanged Blanco head-butted him right between the eyes.
After Blanco headed to the dressing room, the staffer chatted with a police officer by the side of the field and after a couple of minutes both of the headed after Blanco. I hope the wanker gets arrested and charged with assault.

I was in the section right behind the Chicago bench and saw him head butt the guy who was trying to get him to leave the field. He had a DC United emblem on his shirt which may have confused Blanco, but his behavior is inexcusable. Sucio! as my son yelled out. I saw the policeman walk down to the hill on the end of the field with the DC United guy and Blanco was standing there watching the game. Not sure what happened up there but Blanco eventually disappeared. If the DC United guy wanted to press charges he probably could manage to get an assault charge. The head butt wasn't a full blown Glasgow kiss. But he put his head into the DC United guy and did a shove into his face that would have triggered a red card for sure if it had happened on the field. Not sure what the USSF can do about it, but if anybody from the Federation was watching, Blanco shouldn't be able to play in an Open Cup game for a long, long time. But since they lost, the won't be!

So, in an email from a reliable source that I just received, this is the basic story re: the headbutt:
As others of described, Blanco got in the face of the DCU staffer and head-butted him square in the face. This infuriated a senior executive who immediately notified police and asked to have Blanco restrained. Blanco shoved the officers and tried to slap one of them in the face. They didn't appear to end up cuffing him, but as they walked him to the locker room and around the corner he apparently got very physical again and it took between 5 and 10 minutes to be restrained and then the police literally locked Quasimodo in the locker room.

I was there at the Maryland Soccerplex - and when the action occurred about 300 heads turned that way. Obviously it wasnt Blanco's night already getting into the fight with Burch.
Not everyone reads BigSoccer and we are soliciting more information from people who were at the game.

I dont have any photos or video to share but I can tell you that I was there and saw the whole thing. Blanco was reckless clocking players and then he blew up when he was red carded, he should be booked by the police for assualt on that poor guy. He's a disgrace.
The league won’t do anything because he’s a star DP. So it’s really up to the police to handle this one.

Just suspend the guy from USSF matches and fine him. It makes no sense to spend tax payer money on arresting someone, putting them throught the legal process, and so on when all that happened was a headbutt. Reactions like this show what a bunch of pussies American sports fans really are.

If Blanco should get charged with assault what would happen to the status of his work visa?
He has always been a nutcase. I respect his contributions to MLS and recognize him as a fine player. But MLS had to know that eventually he would boil over. The USSF will do nothing about it because MLS will tell them to do nothing about it just like it told the USSF to OK the inclusion of a Canadian team.
The guy obvioulsy has a problem with authority. We have all seen the way he gets in officials faces, etc.. Whether or not this story is true remains to be seen, but it would not at all surprise me if it were. As for the previous comment from anonymous (yeah, I am posting anonymously too cause I have pair huge of huevos), this has nothing to do with American sports fans... it has to do with American law, but what do you care ... you are probably here illegaly anyways. Shut the hell up everyone about Blanco going off the deep end and about him being charged for assault! His team has been playing absolutely horrible lately and hes been very frustrated, all the league (including fricken gay DCU) have done is foul him and disrespect him all year. And for those at the game (i was there), DCU got lucky having only one red card. They were taking shots at him as soon as he got in the game. It would be a waste of time for them to press charges. The only real reason that would happen is because DCU is full of gay fags that is scared of Brian McBride hooking up with Blanco and putting DCU back where they belong at the bottom of the table.

In addition to being a good player, Blanco is Hollywood star, you know everyone wants to see what happens next.
THe headbutt was not between the eyes!!! Blanco was shorter than the DC United guy; Blanco went to headbutt him but really his head hit the DC United's chin. It was more humorous than anything else. I'm a DC United fan, but they played so cheap at the game.

Joey and the rest of you assclowns implying that the Premier League would somehow let this go should STFU. Number one, they wouldn't let it go. If a player headbutted a steward or a non-player, you bet the police would get involved. They have in the past. If Blanco headbutted a player, he would be sent off and more sanctions would be possible. There are numerous examples of both. Learn your facts, douchebags.
