The above photo comes courtesy of a loyal reader in England who inquired as to who the un-named American trialist was. From this we learn that a former Dynamo player may be suiting up for Ipswich Town.
Normally we would not report on the trial of a player who had already left MLS. But this is a special case in that it involves one Nate Jaqua formerly of the Houston Dynamo and rumored with a return to the club, courtesy of this post by Bernardo Fallas on the Houston Chronicle's Soccer y Fútbol blog
" On Jaqua: Canetti labeled as "serious" the talks the team and Jaqua's agent have had regarding the forward's possible return to MLS.
Jaqua, who left the team in December for a move to the Austrian Bundesliga, is weighing his options, which should include at least a couple in the Old World after a successful half season with Cashpoint
His desire to return to the Dynamo and MLS seems lukewarm."

We find the hairline, nose, cranionasal folds, and brow ridge of the player in the photo matches Nate Jaqua though it is hard to tell from the facial expression whether it is 100% Nate Jaqua or not. For comparison here is a photo of Nate Jaqua taken from a similar angle:
Now unless you have some good evidence that this is not Nate Jaqua please refrain from "That's not Nate Jaqua" emails.
The guy in that picture looks nothing like Nate Jaqua.
I honestly do not see Nate coming back to the Dynamo...only as a last ditch plan. I'm more than sure Nate made 3 or 4 times what his salary was for the Dynamo in Austria in one season and is only looking to stay in a european team if anything for the money.
I have heard no rumblings about Nate coming back, to the Dynamo fans I talk to each day they are saying "Nate who?"

That's not Jaqua. It doesn't make the rumor untrue though, it just makes the photo unrelated to the rumor.
