As many of you know, we are fans of the US Open Cup. A knock out competition established in 1914,open to all teams amateur and professional in the style of the FA Cup to determine a true national champion.
This year the US Open Cup takes on added importance as the winner receives a spot in the CONCACAF Champions League. Additionally, a team which has featured film, music and football stars, Hollywood United, has qualified.
For these reasons we believe that some network like Fox Soccer Channel should carry more than just the final game for what is one of the oldest competitions in the world and one which has determined our true national champion for 94 years.
To help you keep track of who is playing who and more importantly where they are located we edited a map produced by Bill Turianski to include all USOC qualified clubs.
In association with US Open Cup.com we will, from week to week we will repost this map without clubs that have been eliminated and at the end of the competition we hope to produce an animated map showing who was eliminated and when.
By the way, tonight there is a play-in qualified between Colorado and Kansas City being played in Overland Park, KS and one between Chicago Fire and Columbus played in Peoria Illinois next week (thanks guys).

KC played Colorado tonight. Chicago plays next week.
Correction: Chicago's play-in match is against Columbus and not until next week. Kansas City and Colorado played tonight in Overland Park, Kansas with the Wizards advancing on penalties.
"By the way, tonight there is a play-in qualified between Chicago Fire and Kansas City being played in Peoria Illinois."
O Rly?
I could have sworn that wasn't the case. I guess the Fire just couldn't wait for The Crew to make it up there next Tuesday and decided to have the play in without them. You know, that or you couldn't bother to take 2 minutes to check out the US Open Cup's official page or Chicago's schedule on their site.
I understand it's time consuming being awesome.
you do realize that there is not a play in game between KC and Chicago, right? They play Columbus (The fire) in July. That's the next round.
So much for great "Journalism".
wow, too many errors in this post to even list.
