They are also available for sale in the team store.
They look EXACTLY like what our source told us on April 26.
"4/26/08 8:22 PM Update:
We have another email from our anonymous source:
"btw, This is the real deal, on your scale of likely to happen (0 -5) this is a 12.
.
Furthermore it will only be the round VW found in the Wolfsburg jersey, roughly about 6" - 8".
Black and Silver (could be white, I couldn't tell as I wasn't wearing my glasses) for the away white jersey, and Silver or white on black for the home jersey.
No wording, only the round logo...you can take that to the bank...it's a done deal."

Okay, seriously. Everytime I've checked this website out in the past week, it's been all about the rumor of VW and DC United. Sure, its fantastic that they got a very nice sponsorship package, but dude! Columbus, RSL, Houston, Colorado, and even LA didn't get this much coverage on their deals (if any). Why does this warrant so much coverage?
VW+DC=I Don't Give a Crap.
Move on to some real football coverage instead of the over-saturation of this deal. It's good for the league and DC, but it's not THAT big of a story.
Volkswagen is a Globally Recognised Brand, perhaps one of the few whose symbol speaks for itself. This is easily the biggest sponsor to come into the league so its understandable MLS Rumors would be all over it. It's the 2nd richest sponsorship deal and will probably have far more of an impact on DC than Herbalife's deal did on LA. No one around the world knows who Xango or Herbalife or Amigo Energy are, a few might know Glidden but everyone knows VW. Thats huge. Let me guess, you are a fan of a team which cant fill it's stadium and still has no sponsor...
Actually, no. I'm all Crew. Sure, we don't fill our stadium but what the hell does that have to do with anything regarding sponsorship deals.
Yeah, VW is a world-wide brand. I respect that. But in the end, this is football, not fashion, not who makes the most money not anything else. It's just a sponsorship deal. Do I think it deserves some pub? Hell yes. But MLSR is just doing a bit of over-saturation. That is all that I am saying.
To bring attendance to the argument was just silly and typically petty. I have a lot of respect for TFC and the fans, but let us not cloud the the reality that this is really isn't a barn-burning story. If it was, ESPN the Ocho would be all over it and it might garner some pub over seas. But you're not likely going to find either.
Well, this is depressing as a United fan. I liked the stripes better, it made me feel like we were sponsored by Adidas.
What a joke.
"It's exactly" as reported here.
Oh, OK, it's VW's iconic logo....what the else were they going to put on there? A pic of that guy flashing that 'Vee dub' gangsign?
Lame, and late to the party in 'breaking' this news.
What's wrong with you? You must not read this blog much because they were out in front on this story since the 26th, not "late to the party" as you say. Hell they actually broke the story that they were negotiating with an auto company last summer. You need to shut up.
