In a story first alerted you to and which we touched on here at MLSR last week, and one which we've been closely tracking ever since, a new development has occurred.
We received the following email yesterday evening and from what we are hearing there should be a truly massive All Star Game protest against the Argos, a Canadian gridiron team, moving into BMO Field:

We at MLSR have pledged our full support to this cause, as we have in the past to the Sons of Benin seeking an MLS club of their own, the Sounders supporters in alerting them to the fact that the name Sounders initially was not an option and helped them retaining their historical name and most recently to the Houston Dynamo Supporters seeking a home for the champions, as well as a group of San Diegans seeking better MLS coverage.Hello:
This message below has been posted on all of the Toronto FC supporters groups website message boards this evening. The post details plans to collectively use the upcoming MLS all star game in Toronto to protest the possibility of the Canadian Football league's Toronto Argonauts possibly moving into, and ruining, BMO Field.

"We", all the Toronto FC Supporter Groups, believe is time we turn our concerns into actions. The possibility of BMO Field losing its SSS label and being shared with the Argos is a very real possibility and something that we are aware that could become a reality.
So no longer in our minds this is something that we can forget, dismiss and move on, we need to take actions, and not only during one game but actions during the season and off season. Actions that will ensure we have done all possible to avoid this scenario.
I want to be clear, TFC, BMO Field Staff and more so the Argos are not the enemy, we are protesting the possibility of our BMO Field will no longer be a SSS in seasons to come. For some this may be an Anti-Argo movement, but we don't want to look it just as that.
During these protests we encourage everyone to join in and participate, but we also ask you to keep the banners civil, clean and classy. You don't achieve much with vulgar language, it shows poorly on you and on what we are trying to achieve.
Enough talk and on with the action...
Protest - Start Point
Protest Date: All-Star Game
Protest:
- Everybody wears black. We are asking all TFC Supporters to wear a black tshirt for this game.
- NO Supporter banners, only "anti-argo" or anti-pigskin football banners.
Why the All-Star Game?
Well, no game will have more media exposure than all-star game, not only that something like this would get coverage over the media not just in Canada but USA and also would put some pressure on the City of Toronto, and MLS in general.
Most people are not willing to do anything during a TFC for many reasons that there is no point on illustrating, so an ALL-STAR game is also the best way since TFC is not directly involved. So is not like we are turning our backs on the team.
This is just the start, we will keep everyone posted of other initiatives that will be happening during the season...one protest, one game, is not enough to get our voices heard and solve our issues...so this is the beginning.
We need you in order to make this happen...so we are asking you for your support!!!!!
We believe that in this league we as fans of the sport, have a fair amount of power if exercised in the right way, we've seen in time and time again with groups such as the highly successful Screaming Eagles and Barra Brava in DC and Sons of Ben in Philadelphia.
Supporting these causes however is what truly makes a fan, into a supporter.
As part of our support we have asked that this group send us any email addresses of officials who should be contacted there in Toronto. And we have also asked that the protesters send us any banner artwork or slogans they are working on.
If you feel strongly about this issue we urge you to write MLS Commissioner Don Garber here at this address.

They should get someone to better the right language a little better for press releases. This dont write so well. Other than that, I totally support their cause if they learn english.
Thanks for the English lesson, anonymous. We'll be sure to incorporate your superior linguistic skills into any further communication.
Perhaps if we worked in "This dont write so well" somewhere, we'd garner more respect from the grammatically-inclined such as yourself.
What was quoted in the post above was not a press release, but a post that was placed on all major TFC supporters groups message boards. It was to the point, in that everyone reading it understood the idea and meaning behind it.
Wouldn't it be "Not in Our Hoos"?
No, because Torontonians don't speak like Albertans.
Has MLS suddenly become the University of Wisconsin with all of the big splash activism? With all due respect, TFC fans, I really couldn't care less what happens to your stadium. I really couldn't.
All we need now are the MIT graduates to pass out a few white shirts into the crowd so that the section will spell "WE SUCK."
Either that, or the email is a plant to make the place look like there's more of the Barra Brava than there would otherwise be.
Good for you, TFC! Stick to your guns. It would be bad enough if an America Football team wanted to come in (I mean the American version of gridiron football, not an actual American team) and play, but the Canadian league has such long fields, it would take away from the atmosphere of a normal TFC games. The supporters would feel isolated, and you wouldn't be able to see them on tv. If I decide to actually watch the all-star game this year (I probably won't, because it's the stupidest part of any sport. Ever.), then I'll wear a black shirt while doing so, just as my own little sign of protest.
My family will hear me roar!
At first I was really against this. However, if they can find a way to minimize the lines on the field (and from what I've read, it's quite doable), I'd actually not have that much of a problem with it. Anything for extra seats in the building; BMO really, REALLY needs more seats!
As a DC United supporter I support this cause. Sharing sucks. Therefore I'd encourage all TFC supporters coming to RFK to bring your protest here as well.
i live in fl. and i can SEE all the way from here. That this is a joke. The argoanuts moving into BMO. That would seriously make MLS look minor league.
100% agree with Anonymous, Canadians cannot write for piss.
I do respect the fans for standing up for what they want and I wish them the best of luck. Seriously though, this guy needs to learn how to write.
LOL @ comments these american hicks.
Telling us that we don't know english. You dumb fucks can't even say soccer right (you guys say sack-er instead of soccer). I totally support this protest! Unlike you american bitches, we got the balls to stand up against pointy ball football teams and protest against them. After all, THIS IS OUR HOUSE!
These Canadians have a lot of nerve coming to this site and talking shit about Americans.
Hey Candians...What's with the fake bravado even faker British accents and a superiority complex that is delusional?
Our club teams regularly beat yours.
Our Mens National team regularly beats yours
Our Youth National Teams regularly beat yours.
Our Women's National Team regularly beat yours.
Your best players don't even want to be Canadian or play for Canada.
Your players who do play for your national team play in 3rd level leagues in Europe, MLS and the USL (!)
Our players play in Europe, Mexico South America and MLS.
REALITY CHECK. YOU SUCK.
Careful, though, guys. We all know how out of control the Toronto cops are. The last thing in the world MLS needs is a Canadian Kent State. But imagine the publicity.
It's pretty crazy up there. I heard you can't even drink a beer at a tailgate lest you be arrested.
Fuck that.
great white north: You need to STFU.
TFC have been winning games this season against most of your American clubs.
Your national team needed the refs to help them to win against Canada in gold cup last time.
Women football? LMAO Cute. Who watches women football?
Youth teams? We beat you guys before.
Calling us British? Come to Toronto and you see how "British" we really are up here.
Canadians who choose not to play for Canada are funny since those Canadians are always here in Canada spending time with their family and going on and on how they're happy to be Canadians. Besides, didn't you Americans lost a player to Italy? That's what I thought.
Our players do play in first division leagues in Europe, South America and America as well. Do some research you dumb American hick.
Now do yourself a favour get your head outta your inbred hick ass, son.
Woowww... so apparently Americans and Canadians hate each other now?
BOTH OF YOU SHUT UP.
Thank you. My work is done.
Seriously, if you wanna debate about which club team is better, don't bring nationality into it.
And just for the record, Canadian guy who seems to have provoked to current dispute, the reason we can't stand up to football lines is because unlike you, we don't own the stadium. The Revs, RSL, and Pink Cows can bitch all they want about the lines and shitty turf, but what's it gonna do? ZILCH. The only thing they can hope for is a new stadium, which every team except New England now currently has, is pursuing, or is being discriminated against by their local government, who constantly lies and backstabs them (sorry, as a United supporter, I had to get my shots at RBNY and the ridiculousness of Mayor Fenty in. I'm done. Proceed with your lives).
By calling us "American hicks" and promoting violence, you are the one that seems like a total ass hole. This comment board was light-hearted and there were no demeaning or improper comments until you came on and starting badmouthing our country.
And for the record, Giuseppe Rossi lived in America for 2 years, then moved to Italy, so technically he was eligible for the USMNT, but why would he want to play here if he grew up in Italy? Do YOUR research, ya prick.
And name ONE player besides Julian De Guzman who plays for a top-flight league in Europe or elsewehere.
And many Americans watch women's football. Just because your team is garbage doesn't mean the US doesn't care about it.
Don't forget Paul Stalteri at Fulham! Rob Friend is out in Holland, which is a decent league, too. There a Swiss-Canadian who plays in the Bundesliga, but his name escapes me.
Anyway, it's kind of pathetic how this topic has taken such a nasty tangent.
BTW, I'm the same anonymous who was kind of in-favour of sharing the stadium with the Argos. I still think we need more seats, pretty-much no matter what.
Also, most of you guys need to light-up a j and chill. Seriously, relax already.
"This comment board was light-hearted and there were no demeaning or improper comments until you came on and starting badmouthing our country. "
Ha. People here were dissing us Canadians first, I just fired back. Besides, if you read comments from other articles on here, you'll understand why I am responding harshly.
"And many Americans watch women's football. Just because your team is garbage doesn't mean the US doesn't care about it."
Exactly. Only Americans care about women's footy.
For the record, Canada women's team is ranked 9th in the world.
there are other ways to expand BMO than to bring in the argos. you could add a second deck on the north and west ends, but stands in the south and have a second-level plaza, or none at all, and possibly triple-deck the east side.

way to lose the plot... love or hate tfc fans the atmosphere at bmo is great for the league and the addition of the argos will ruin it... any support coming up from the states for the all-star game should consider wearing black.
Dont hate on Great White North, he was preoccupied looking down at his grandmothers head and he got testy when she coughed.
Anyways, yah, any support from the US would be appreciated, even if you dont like us, just for the betterment of the MLS.
This protest is a great idea. As a RBNY fan, I'm well aware that gridiron has been a bane on our playing spaces in MLS and if the Argos start playing in BMO you will end up with grid lines on your field and bumped matches in your schedule. You should try to nip it in the bud or you'll regret it.
If the moose piss drinking monarchists have so many great players and so much passion, why the hell can't they start their own league and leave us American rednecks alone? Canadians, get lost. Please.
Cause were having way to much fun pissing off inbred mongoloids like yourself ;)
"If the moose piss drinking monarchists have so many great players and so much passion, why the hell can't they start their own league and leave us American rednecks alone? Canadians, get lost. Please."
We actually do have our own league, you dumb american fuck. CSL (Canadian Soccer League) is our league.
Then why the hell don't you tell the idiots in Vancouver and Montreal to put their efforts into growing and promoting that league instead of making silly noise about crashing ours?
"Then why the hell don't you tell the idiots in Vancouver and Montreal to put their efforts into growing and promoting that league instead of making silly noise about crashing ours?"
Because Vancouver and Montreal are too busy playing in USL since they can more money playing there than CSL.
By the way, just in case you know, Canada is part of MLS now. So it's our league too. If you don't like it, then go bitch at MLS, USSF and FIFA for accepting Toronto in MLS.
So now it's our problem.
I hate the fact that most of you on this site jump at the chance to mock/make fun/bad mouth TFC...they are huge favs in Europe and instead of talking crap...most organizations in the MLS should follow their lead...get up off your ass and support your team on...good times and the bad.
I'm not a TFC fan/supporter whatever...but cheers to the lads in Toronto!
I live in Florida and i dont have any problem with what the canadians are doing. BMO is a Fortress. Good Job TFC!
"For the record, Canada women's team is ranked 9th in the world"
Ours is Always #1 or #2 canuck, personally I find this whole situation hilarious and I actually wish I had All Star Tickets so I could bring a "home of the argo's" banner
Whatever happens this is quite funny
