OUTGOING: Altidore's Transfer Fee Up To $10 Million

And considering the falling dollar and considering the amount of top clubs interested in him, that may even be a little too low for the Red Bull NY striker.

More details here on Mr. Stephen Goff's blog over at the Washington Post.

EDIT: Goff posted an update which states that MLS is looking at $10 Million for Altidore after turning down a transfer to Reading for $8 Million over the winter window.

Completely off-topic, but does anyone else like the Red Bulls actually having a red jersey better than the blue crap they have now? I'm a DCU supporter, just to make that clear, but I always did like the Red and White. The two kits they have now, in my mind, are terrible. I was never a big fan of the white and red, but the all blue looks like something a MISL team should wear.

yeah, i did like the red shirts better. i'm not even a ny fan and i was looking to get one of the red shirts. the red shirts looked good and they may sense. it's not like they are the ny blue balls.

Here's a solution: bring back the Metros! Seriously. I hate rooting against an energy drink. Red Bull has never hurt me, but now I can't buy their products, because I don't want to endorse RBNY.

Plus, the Metros attracted more fans.... I think they usually averaged about 6,000 more per season than the Red Bulls have since the name change (which is like 11-12 thousand, because I do not count games in which David Beckham draws big crowds. If he did not play for the Galaxy, or the England-Colombia game wasn't there in 06, the Bulls would have averaged 10k last year, and about 11 the previous year. Bleah).
