Fulham FC is reporting that Brian McBride has left the club and WILL be returning home. And we have this report from the BBC as well:
The club wanted him to stay for at least another year but after making more than 150 appearances and scoring 40 goals, he has decided to leave.
"I've always stated my intention to go home at some stage and this seems like the right moment to move on," the 36-year-old told the club website.
"I'm proud that my last game saw the club stay in the Premier League."
McBride won Fulham's player of the year award twice during his time at Craven Cottage, and returned from a serious injury to score some of the goals which helped them avoid relegation on the last day of the season.

Nice video of McBride over the years.

McBride is considered by many to be the best American field player ever to play in the English Premier League.
Who might get him, Chicago has been highly rumoured but a homeward bound return to where he started it all in MLS, Columbus, should not be ruled out entirely.

Gent's... you're forgetting that Toronto FC have first shot at him.
Unless McBride is looking to come home for less the $400k a year (which seem unlikely) Chicago would have to make a trade to acquire a PD roster space in order to sign him.
Toronto will have to be delt with via trades, draft picks and/or allocation $$$, but don't be confused, McBride is of a stature that he's coming back to the team of his choosing. Specifics may be up in the air, but the league and Brians 'people' have this pretty well worked out.
yeah, i don't think he'd be publicising his departure if he didn't already have something worked out with the league. for some reason this is more exciting than the news of reyna coming back. it's great that he won't be joining a club after a long grueling season. he should be pretty fresh.
I have a man-crush on McBride.
