From MLS Confidential:
"During those few years, operator-investor Jorge Vergara will evaluate further the possibility of building his own stadium, perhaps in the San Bernardino area east of Los Angeles. That area is not heavily Hispanic and it might be, far from the bright lights of HDC, an element that proves to be essential in the Chivas USA quest for success."

They need to build the stadium in San Diego, they would get a fair amount of cross border support, and I would have a team in SD that I could support.
Except that San Bernadino and it's neighboring cities have a much larger population than San Diego. And no top tier professional sports team.
I've also seen some that dispute the 'not heavily hispanic' claim in the article.
It'd be wonderful for you to have a team there to support... but I'd much rather Vegara and MLS go for the larger population.
I was born and raised in Fontana, which is less than ten minutes from San Bernardino, it (Fontana) is currently over 80% Hispanic. Other town in that area are equally Hispanic; San Bernardino is more African American.
That stdium looks like a toilet bowl.
