INCOMING: Paul Dickov to Toronto FC?

Posted by MLSR Monday, April 21, 2008

It seems we now know who the striker that TFC is pursuing is courtesy of BBC's Rumor Mill and the Daily mirror.

"Veteran striker Paul Dickov, currently on loan with Blackpool from Manchester City, is in talks with Major League Soccer club Toronto. (Daily Mirror)"

Hmmmm.... He's 35. He's Scottish. He's currently on loan to a club which sits mid table in the Championship. Yep, he has Toronto FC written all over him.

Here he is in action:

  2. And he's known for getting stuck in. He probably meets the work rate requirement for MLS. Not bad if they pay him 100K or less, but not if he gets more. Maybe they're going to make him into a central defender. They need those more than forwards right now.

  4. If Toronto sign him, they'll have to also sign a full-time team psychologist. He's a complete sociopath. He'll probably put someone in a wheelchair before he scores his first goal.

  6. Its Napolean syndrome I tell ya..

  8. I don't care what kind of syndrome it is. If he starts with Shalrie Joseph he's going to wish that he was back in some northern rathole living off of deep-fried pizza.

  10. So TFC could have a starting strike team of Danny Dichio and Paul Dickov...? Too Many Jokes!
