EXPANSION: Seattle Name Search (Update)

Posted by MLSR Monday, March 10, 2008

Rating: 3 (Possible)

This comes to us from our same source who revealed the results of a focus group study involving the name of Seattle's new MLS club.

It is an update on the ever changing Seattle naming process.

As always with anonymous emails, do with it what you will:

"Pacifica Seattle FC, Seattle Pacifica FC, Seattle Maremonte FC & Seattle Montemare FC have been officially eliminated from contention. Pacifica options were dropped due to MLS in Seattle's concerns over confusion with Seattle Pacific Univ. Maremonte/Montemare dropped after single owner championing them realized he couldn't gain ground in attempts to convince other members of ownership group to consider them."
"Inter Seattle FC remains in the hunt, but pair of new candidates have emerged as the hot possibilities: Seattle Cascadia SC and Cascadia Seattle SC."

We will post any further updates as we get them.

  2. GOD those are all TERRIBLE!! Why can't Seattle have a normal name, like Seattle FC/SC? Heck, even the Emerald City FC ones sounded better than any of the posted names.

  8. Didn't someone throw out a name like Seattle 1971 or FC Seattle 1971 because that's when the sounders were established? That would be a cool name IMO.

  10. I bet it's going to be Seattle FC. Do a whois search on that site and it comes up being owned by a Seattle based internet company.
