At this point this whole thing is starting to look like the Juan Sebastian Veron Saga all over again. And did we mention he's still considering coming to MLS and bringing his friend Riquelme? Okaaay.
We now have a report saying he is not coming to Toronto. Maybe he ends up elsewhere in the league but let's be honest, he's 36. Who really other than a desperate Toronto FC side would want him?
One word sums up this whole episode: Farce.
TFC would be advised that a world of footballers exists outside of Europe and that quality ones can be found under the age of 30, just look at who Real Salt Lake has signed or has on trial.

Kovalenko is from Ukraine. The Ukraine is in Europe. :-)

I think he was referring to our Argentinian signings, and Colombian signing, and our Singapore trialist.
"Who really other than a desperate Toronto FC side would want him?"
Is that line really necessary?
If so, then up yours buddy. Way to stratify an entire mls side's audience at the expense of your poor reporting.
It's not meant as a slight against Toronto FC or their fans. But really, they finished last last season, they have a bunch of gaps to fill and instead of them doing that they are looking at a 36 year old has been whose primary value would be to pander to a particular ethnic community.
That doesn't reak of desperationt to you?

Wow, can you skin be any thinner?

Made me laugh out loud.
Your points are well taken; believe you me, any supporter of Toronto FC is concerned over the results of our club's current short history.
Indeed, gaps must be addressed (fingers crossed for Kiki) and solutions won't be found in aged fallen stars (Pinto is and always will be, a very very weak candidate)
Please understand however, that these concerns manifests not as despair; rather more as hope, of which Toronto FC supporters have plenty of for this coming season.
Quite the contrast to the definition of 'Desperation' - a state in which all hope is lost or absent.

With a User Profile About Me along the lines of: "If you're American (or Canadian now), and you love football, but you don't watch MLS...you're an asshole."
That sort of reasoning hardly gives me much opportunity to digest your opinion seriously.
You, my friend, make me LOL
