33-year-old Tony Caig is expected to serve as backup goalkeeper to Pat Onstad, who last November became the first MLS goalkeeper to win three MLS Cup Championships.
Caig, a native of Whitehaven, England, most recently played for Gretna of the Scottish Premier League. Caig has also played with Newcastle of the English Premier League, and has also had stints with internationally-renowned clubs Carlisle United, Blackpool, Charlton Athletic and Hibernian. Caig is no stranger to North America, having played briefly with the United Soccer League Vancouver Whitecaps.
