Ives Galarcep is reporting that Chicago may trade their rights to former Chicago Fire, current Puntarenas FC striker, Costa Rica international, Andy Herron to San Jose if they are able to sign Frabrice Pancrate.
The 29-year-old striker very much wishes to come back to MLS for the 2008 season.
Herron is no stranger to controversy.
Back in January of 2006 Herron was suspended for six games without pay for his behavior that led to a red card in a 1-0 loss to the New England Revolution during the Eastern Conference Championship game the previous November 6.
According to the MLS Soccer Disciplinary Committee, Herron was disciplined for making "unacceptable physical contact" with the referee Terry Vaughn and assistant referee George Gansner, conduct that led to him being sent off in stoppage time. Adding to the severity of his punishment was the fact that Herron returned to the field after the game.

Then last year, on Herron again was involved in a controversial incident during a game against the Revolution. Herron elbowed New England's early in a nationally-televised game on MLS Primetime Thursday. (Video of that incident below)
He did not receive a card at the time because neither the referee , nor a linesman, saw the action.
ESPN commentator Eric Wynalda called the foul, "the worst I've seen in a long time." He was suspended for four games and fined $3,000. According to Herron, the elbow was in response to Jay Heaps grabbing his "private area" as well as xenophobic and racist comments.
