"And we're back!"
Sources close to the club are reporting that DC United most likely will have a shirt sponsor next season. Source states that the club is in "deep negotiations" with a national telecommunications company as well as a global automobile manufacturer and a international banking/financial services corporation.
Other clubs rumored to have shirt sponsors for the '08 season are Chicago Fire and the Colorado Rapids. Should these all come to pass then 9 out of 14 (New York, DC, Chicago, Toronto, Houston, LA, Chivas, Colorado, and Salt Lake ) will have an additional revenue source in the form of shirt sponsors.

EXPANSION: Seattle to MLS in '09 - "done deal".

Multiple sources are reporting this morning that Seattle to MLS for the 2009 season is a done deal which will be announced October 11th. An MLSR source contradicted a published report on a blog that stated the club's name wouldn't be the Sounders. This source states that there most likely will be a name the club, contest announced and some of the more "traditional" choices will be more in line with what we've seen in MLS expansions lately.
